About Us

Welcome to Fred Parkin, your independent British furniture destination specializing in classic armchairs, comfortable living room seating, and timeless accent lounge chairs.

Our Washwood Heath Road Heritage in Birmingham

Our story took shape in the West Midlands along the bustling Washwood Heath Road in Ward End, Birmingham. Trading formally as FRED PARKIN LIMITED (incorporated in England and Wales in 2004, Company No. 05260333), our business has operated for over two decades with a simple, grounded commitment: providing sturdy, dependable, and comfortable furniture directly to households across our community.

For over twenty years, local homeowners have known our familiar blue-and-white shopfront as a trusted neighborhood furniture store. We have always believed that an armchair is more than just a place to sit—it is where you curl up with a cup of tea, read your favorite book, and unwind after a long British working day.

The Launch of Our Dedicated Online Armchair Store

While large department store chains often charge exorbitant prices with complicated delivery lead times, we believe quality upholstery, solid timber frames, and deep, supportive cushioning should be accessible to everyone across the UK.

To bring our carefully curated seating collections directly to living rooms nationwide, we launched our official direct-to-consumer online platform—fredparkin.com. While drawing on our twenty-year showroom experience, this website functions as our independent digital initiative. Every single piece in our digital showroom is 100% brand-new, factory-fresh, and carefully tested for everyday British domestic comfort—from classic high-back wingback armchairs and mid-century Scandinavian lounge chairs to soft boucle accent seating and ergonomic reclining chairs with solid beech wood legs.

Our Independent Retailer Promise

We treat our online customers with the same honesty, warmth, and personal care that has kept our Birmingham doors open since 2004:

  • Factory-Fresh Seating: Every armchair arrives brand-new, carefully wrapped in heavy-duty protective transit cartons with reinforced corner cushioning.
  • 100% Free Nationwide UK Delivery: Straightforward pricing with zero carriage fees, heavy-goods supplements, or checkout surprises anywhere in the United Kingdom.
  • 30-Day Hassle-Free Returns: A prepaid return shipping label is enclosed right inside your package, making mail returns simple and completely free if a chair doesn't fit your room dimensions.
  • Direct Support from Birmingham: Helpful, friendly assistance from our local customer care team whenever you need advice regarding fabric swatches, weight capacities, or dimensions.
